1. Focus on the eyes
It's no secret that focusing on the eyes of an animal is going to help you connect with your subject but how do we actually do this?
Here's some tips below to help:
- Try to get yourself level with your subject
- Make sure your AF point (Auto focus point) is set on the eye area (check your cameras manual on how to change this)
- Check that you're focusing mode is set to 'continuous autofocus' (AI Servo for Canon & AF-C for Nikon) so if the horse moves suddenly, your camera can continue to track that area as you follow the horse with your camera.
